Losing Weight With Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)

Losing Weight With Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)

When you have been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), you may have been told by your doctor that your weight should be kept under control. Unfortunately" keep your weight under control," can be difficult, because it is much more difficult than it seems, especially since your health is constantly working against you.

With such a diagnosis, it is understood that you have a hormonal imbalance. You may already be familiar with the physical complications of this imbalance such as acne, excessive facial hair, irregular periods, infertility, and of course, weight gain. This article however is not intended to fight against all the complications, rather just the main one that causes the most discomfort, because it can not be treated with creams, clips or fertility drugs. This is because the only effective treatment against weight gain in people with PCOS is CONTROL.

The hormone insulin which is produced by the pancreas to regulate glucose metabolism and fat in the body is the main culprit of weight gain in people with PCOS. This is mainly due to the fact that the body can not effectively use the hormone. In each of those with PCOS, the interaction of insulin in the body can be different. Due to hormonal imbalance, the person can be produced more insulin than needed or the body is unable to use the insulin produced effectively. If either is the case, it can be easily solved with a prescribed drug called metformin. While the drug with regulating the imbalance, it does not solve the problem of excessive weight gain.

As indicated above, the only effective treatment is the control. Unlike most people who do not have the condition, people with PCOS are prone to be "Cravers", the main drug of choice Craved as "sugar." In normal women, when their period is due to start, they experience an increased need for sugar, which usually disappears after the period has concluded, but for women with PCOS, it is an endless struggle. Give this desire leads to overconsumption of sugar and of course weight gain.

So how PCOS women fight these urges , using the control to lose weight?
The hard truth that PCOS women have to face is that they must commit to a healthy lifestyle reduces sugar, if they expect to have children and prevent obesity or for worse. I found that with the help of prescription medications such as metformin, the fight is made much easier. The second step is, however, reduce your portions. Humans tend to eat more than necessary anyway. For people with a healthy digestive system and metabolism, excess fat and sugar is removed, but for women with PCOS, unwanted fat hangs on like a leach.

So what you eat and how much?
There is no right or wrong answer here. It is impossible to create a standard format or part of a specific diet because everyone is different. The best advice is to return to the flowchart of basic food. The more vegetables, lean proteins and fruits such as crunchy apples in your diet, the better. Dairy products should be avoided because it contains hormones that can still disrupt your balance. Soybeans also what was said to affect fertility. Sugar should ideally be replaced by xylitol (an alternative to sugar).

I found it easy to control your portions by following the rule: Your parties must not exceed the size of your fist. This may sound strange, but think about the size of your stomach, in reality it is not much bigger than your fist, so why consume more than during a meal. The good news is that with smaller portions, the frequency can be increased up to six times a day, so there is no fear of starvation.

Diet aside, the movement is essential. You should aim to get at least 30-60 minutes of exercise per day. This can be increased to 120 minutes for those who are physically able. Always consult your doctor before increasing the intensity of your exercise. You do not need to get a gym membership or special equipment to ensure that you always move the time required per day. Jogging in place or jogging in the park. Walking is also more effective than you think. Search videos simple online exercises and incorporate them into your daily activities.

Control and discipline are your best defense when it comes to keeping your weight under control. You must make the decision to change your lifestyle for health to reduce the risk of obesity, infertility and other associated with excessive weight gain diseases. You may not be able to change the diagnosis, but control your portions, reducing or eliminating sugar from your diet, adding exercise and taking prescribed medications, you can actually change the prognosis.
