Should Your Diet Be Gluten-Free?

Should Your Diet Be Gluten-Free?

Should you go gluten free?
There has been a lot of talk about the gluten free diet. While it has been around for many, many years, only a small percent of people knew about it. The only time someone would actually learn of this diet is when their doctor would diagnose them with Celiac Disease. The gluten free diet is becoming popular around the world in just the last year. However, could it be right for you?

Why some are against it
Some people are against the idea of just anyone going gluten free. Why? Because they believe that if someone isn't experiencing the symptoms of celiac disease, or having a mild gluten free intolerance, there shouldn't be any reason to follow the diet. The people who are against it think that it's just another celebrity "fad diet", and that it won't really work unless you are a true celiac disease sufferer.

The real facts
There are studies that prove gluten and wheat really aren't good for anyone to consume. In fact, only cows should consume gluten. However, very few people are educated on the science behind gluten, and what it actually does to our bodies. Gluten is a known culprit for the "wheat belly". Many people will experience a rather large belly, and get discouraged when they try everything to lose the belly fat. What it really is, is the gluten they are consuming. Gluten is in many different things, even some foods that you may not even expect it to be in. It's in some soaps, shampoo, tooth paste, etc. It can really boost your immune system to just eliminate it for good. Many people are confused because they hear how good whole grain and whole wheat is for you. Unfortunately, over the years, a lot of the grains and wheat aren't what they used to be; everything is changing to genetically modified versions. Just like how corn is a GMO, wheat is right there with it, and is not healthy at all.

Aside from other's opinions, it really comes down to the truth and evidence. You now know what gluten is capable of. Now it's up to you to decide whether or not you want to maintain a gluten free lifestyle. Like any diet, it will take some getting used to. You would have to eliminate wheat, gluten, rye, and oats. If you could do that, your health would see much improvement. So, what should you do? It all comes down to if you think you could adhere to this type of lifestyle.
