Paradigm Shift: Weight Loss As a Team Sport
Most people have repeated attempts at weight loss, have tried
many weight loss programs, fad diets, joined a gym quit going, hired a
personal trainer... quit, got too expensive... All of these experience
build up our arsenal of why something won't work for us. Our self
fulfilling prophecies are like emotional scar tissue. Our body forms
scar tissue after an injury - connective tissue similar to the original,
however it comes back denser, thicker to protect us from injury. Self
fulfilling prophecies are how we protect ourselves from being let down -
predict doom and gloom so we won't be disappointed by failure.
Therefore,
I suggest weight loss as a team sport. Animals for packs, schools,
flocks for protection, power and support. We are social beasts as well.
We all draw strength from the pack.
Your team is training - NOT we
are all fat and we need to lose weight. Attitude is everything. Pack
animals know "never let them see you sweat" (unless working out!).
Strength comes from a projection of power. Remember The Law of
Attraction: the goals we think about (aim for!) are the goals we get
(earn) in our life. If we think negative thoughts we will have negative
experiences (wallow) and if we think positive thoughts we bring
positive experiences (and energy) and things into our lives.
A
pack brings positive energy, intense loyalty, power to the entire pack.
They urge you on when flailing, reprimand you when deserved, and praise
when merited... kind of like a cheer leading squad.
I have found
group weight loss coaching to be - yep - sorry - a pack program, and
very successful. Camaraderie is proven in thousands of social settings
(team sports, armies, family units, group therapy) as the iron man of
motivation. A well put together team seeks to deal with challenges,
providing viable options and supporting all the way to victory.
5 tips for assembling you weight loss pack:

Time Line

Set
meeting times (skype works fine too, doesn't have to be in person)group
emails, maybe a Facebook group - many forms of communication, support,
contact
