I Am Too Fat to Walk Up My Street
We are all very conscious about what we look like and how others
perceive us. This affects us more when we know we are overweight and
especially if we are obese.
No one wants to feel like people are
laughing at us, especially when we have decided to lose weight and take
our first tentative steps up the street to do so. Actually you will find
that your neighbours are actually applauding your decision, but you
know better don't you?
Do not let your lack of self-esteem stop
you from reaching your dream. If you feel self-conscious about your
body, find an alternative way to make your goal.
One of the best
and easiest ways is to buy a treadmill. If you can afford a new one
that's fine but if the price is out of your reach, have a look on eBay
or other online stores that sell second-hand or pre-loved ones. You will
find they are so much cheaper and there are plenty of them on the
market for one reason or another.
You see, walking is still the
best and easiest exercises to do to lose weight. You can adjust the
treadmill to a really low-speed to start with and to help you realise,
you can do this. Once you have walked on a low-speed for a few days, try
upping the speed a little. You may get puffed but you know you can stop
at any time. Don't let the fact you are so unfit ruin your chances.
This is your time to shine and you know you want to.
You will see
after a couple of weeks it is not too hard and you can walk for a few
minutes more each time you use it. Try not to weigh yourself every day,
as if you can possibly wait for a full week after starting to do this,
you will be amazed at the results. It is happening, the weight has
started to shift and you are on your way.
The beauty of the
treadmill is, you can alter both the speed and the incline to suit your
enthusiasm. On your motivated days push the speed a little higher, walk a
few extra minutes, perhaps even try it using the incline button. Hard
isn't it? However, the results will make you realise this is all
worthwhile.
Once you self-esteem has returned, you will have a
choice. You can continue on the treadmill daily or you can alternate one
day treadmill and one day up the street. Yes, your neighbours will be
watching but with astonishment of the new you. Weight loss is not just
about looking better but also feeling good and your body will show your
pride.
