Using Hypnosis For Weight Loss
More people are turning to hypnosis for weight loss as we settle in to the start of the 2014. 1000's of people, male and female will have already given up on new year resolutions to get fit and lose weight. The idea of joining the gym and dieting sounded like a great idea whilst enjoying the festive season but, with that well and truly behind us the reality of how difficult it can be using will power alone is proving too much. Hypnotherapy is proving to be more effective than ever before as we see more celebrities seeking the help of a hypnotherapist.
Lily Allen reported dropping from a size 12 to a staggering size 8 after sessions with her hypnotherapist, and according to Marie Claire magazine, Fergiethe lead sing of the Black Eyed Peas keeps her hypnotist on speed dial when touring, other celebrities who are open about using hypnotherapy include Sarah Ferguson, Geri Halliwell and model Sophie Dahl.
The taboo around hypnosis is lessening as we are becoming a nation of fast food & takeaway lovers. Hypnotherapy has moved away from the cloak and dagger or the swinging watch, in the 90's hypnotist having their volunteers perform on stage was very popular. Even the medical profession are supporting hypnosis when it comes to encouraging their patience to shred the pounds and take up a healthy lifestyle. Perhaps the reason for this is that the hypnotherapy works by reprogramming the mind.
Our mind is divided into two parts our conscious and unconscious parts of the mind, when using hypnotherapy we can create new neurological pathways within the brain. This is done in the hypnotic trance, by tapping into the unconscious mind, this bypasses the conscious mind. The unconscious mind is where we store all our learnt eating habits along with our beliefs about dieting. The therapists approach is to not only having their clients to eat less and lose cravings for certain foods, reputable therapists now work with people as an individual moving away from what is known as scriptnosis in the trade, which means everyone will be treated with the same hypnotic script.
The hypnotherapist should be encouraging the client to look more in-depth into their eating patterns, this will enable them to identify if the issue is emotional or a behavioural problem, this often involves going into childhood memories where the issue may have developed and taking a honest look at our lifestyle. Hypnosis is not the easy way out it still takes motivation, openness and the willingness to work with the therapist in order for you to fully benefit. There is a number hypnotic programs available, finding a hypnotherapist in your local area shouldn't be difficult using the internet search engine.
